Jeremy Maronpot

As a craftsman my intention is to master material and technique. I have great admiration for tireless detail and the disciplined process of developing exceptional skill. As an artist I hope to take a closer look at a world that is much bigger than me, to connect with, and be thankful for a complex universe.

Art is an expression of the creators' imagination and a reflection of the values of a culture. Art can inform, invite, engage, entertain, inspire, perplex; art can transform a physical, emotional, or intellectual space. From cave paintings to symphony orchestras, art is a window into humanity.

My primary focus for the past ten years has been on metalworking. I am attracted to the permanence of the material and challenged by its seemingly unyielding nature. Much of my work is an exploration of the malleability of metal.

I enjoy making custom projects for my clients, and I sell finished works of art as well. My studio is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. I have a B.F.A. from East Carolina University and have participated in many workshops and lectures as both a student and a teacher. My work has been displayed at group exhibitions at The North Carolina Museum of Art, The Fayetteville Museum of Art, The Chapel Hill Museum, The Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh, and The Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art.
